TEDx AGI – The Conclusion of a Successful Event

The most biggest event of the Anurag Group of Institutions happened on 2nd March 2019, Saturday. An independently organized TED talk; TEDx AGI has been the buzz of the city for the last couple of months, and it was all worth for the hype created.

The organizers, crew and volunteers of Anurag Group of Institution put an exceptional hard work through day and night to bring in nine speakers to talk at the show. The collective effort by the management and students was evident at the neat conduct of the event. TEDx AGI was a full-day event curated by Prof. Satya Kiran, Dr. Tara Singh Thakur and Mr. Anurag Palla at Anurag Group of Institutions (Hyderabad) campus.

TEDx AGI is a non-profit event and strives to deliver the best value based talks to approximately 100 like minded, driven and meticulously curated audience out of a myriad of applications, that appreciates knowledge and experience which they would concur from the talk. The event happened on the 2nd of March, 2019 from 9AM to 6PM.

The goal was to bring together the brightest minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.The talk was up to 18 minutes, on the theme ”Voyage into the unknown.”

Voyage Into The Unknown the theme thought upon by Kaustubh Karnam. It can be scary to go out to the unknown. Imagine what was going through the minds of the great explorers as they sailed off into uncharted waters. Fear? Excitement? How different our world would be if they played it safe and stayed at shore. Voyage Into The Unknown, a journey of great people showcasing moments of success and failure in their life and no matter what the destination might be, the voyage must be extraordinary.

The speakers who honored the stage were:

Swamy Bodhamayananda

Swamy Bodhamayananda, Director, Vivekananda Institute Of Human Excellence, Ramakrishna Matt. He emphasized on three major qualities to possess as a human; Authenticity, Inner Grit and Sensitivity. Swamy also suggested a couple of books to read, they were Man’s Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl and Dibs In Search Of Self by Virginia Axline.

Mr. Rakesh Pulapa

Rakesh Pulapa, He is a computer science engineer turned into Landscape/ Aerial photographer. He started photography as a hobby and soon evolved into a passionate Photographer. Rakesh says, “I love traveling and nature, and photography gave me a special connection with both which I can’t express in words, can only do so with pictures.” He underlined on the point that one should “Explore the Unexplored to achieve the greater heights.”

Mr. Nag Ashwin

Nag Ashwin, is an Indian film director and screenwriter from Hyderabad, Telangana. He is most known as a director for a Telugu-Tamil bilingual biopic “Mahanati”, based on the life of late legendary southern actress Savitri. From his own experiences, he said “Unknown isn’t perfect and that’s the beauty of it. Hit the road and embark upon to unknown and see your journey turning into a successful one.”

Ms. Lakshmi Bhavani

Lakshmi Bhavani, Chief of UNICEF Gujarat is currently responsible for the coordination and management of the UNICEF Programmes in Gujarat State.  She undertakes policy dialogue and advocacy with government and other partners for enhancement of children and women’s rights. She stressed on the points that the Parenting should be done in the right way to make the child into a better person in the society. She also added that the Educational Institutions also play a major role in doing so, hence these are the two factors which need changes right now for the betterment of the young minds of the society.

Ms. Nandita Sethi

Nandita Sethi, Founder & MD, The Entrepreneur Zone, Vice-Chair, CII-Indian Women Network, Telangana, Mentor for Startups, Professor in Economics, Trainer and Author. She walked the audience through her life how two major unknowns came her way; One was her mom falling prey to ALS disease and another was laying the foundation to ‘The Entrepreneur Zone.’ She threw the light on “Coming up with alternative plans to whatever obstacles you face in life.”

Mr. Lokesh Nathany

Lokesh Nathany, Founder, DiSRUPPt Thinking, Life, Business & Financial Coach & Networker. Lokesh talked on his early life, how the family of five survived with minimum wealth and still lead a happy life. He also emphasized on how when you truly believe in your goal, everything happens around leads you towards it. The one signification he made throughout his speech was “Always sharpen your skills. Never stop learning.” And also exemplified himself, when he quit a Investments company to start his own and was unaware of what to do. But eventually sharpened his skills and has become a life coach.

Ms. Tanya Mittal

Tanya Mittal is a 22 years old Millionaire, hails from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. She owns a venture called Handmade Love. She is a student from Chandigarh University and has won the crown “Miss Asia 2018” at Lebanon. Tanya’s speech kept the audience in their toes, as it was very interactive and a two-way traffic. The highlights of her speech were the two life hacks and tricks to make a startup successful. The life hacks were “Keep working on your dream consistently and Learn something new everyday.” To make a startup a successful one, she told  the learnings from her own experiences. “A startup should be a problem solver, Playing in the targeted market helps you grow faster and Rise the values of your products,” she said.

Ms. Olly Esse

Olly Esse is no stranger to the limelight. Known for her energetic performances on stage, she’s a force to recon with. Having been performing around the globe for the past 13 years, she’s humbled to have performed alongside some great musicians. For the first ever time, she spoke about her struggles through the early days of her life. How racism ruined her life all along, how her dad humiliated her for not being born as a boy, how her relationships didn’t spare on her either to lead a normal life and lastly, how she found a new and safe home in India. She has definitely gone through a lot and has achieved more than what was expected of her.

Mr. RS Praveen Kumar

RS Praveen Kumar, IPS officer of the 1995 batch, India. Dr Praveen Kumar is widely known as the brain behind the success story of the Everest conquerors Malavath Purna and Sandhanapalli Anand Kumar. His talk said how one phrase from his mother guided him to change the course of action from being a police officer to Secretary, Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare Residential Schools, Telangana and Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh since 2012. He has been serving the underprivileged women society to get better education and basic needs. He spoke on how something or the other constantly motivates him to serve the world of girls and women.

The talk show was a grand success with the help of all the volunteers, organizers, management and the crew. We from Digital Connect congratulate everyone who was involved in the biggest event of the college and knit a beautiful show.
